The AFH Workforce Academy exists to strengthen the Adult Family Home industry by supporting caregivers and providers through workforce development and high-quality training.
Our mission is to empower, educate, and enhance the Adult Family Home workforce through statewide training, recruitment, and comprehensive HR support—strengthening providers, improving care quality, enhancing compliance, and promoting long-term workforce stability across Washington State.

What We Do
Workforce Development
We provide fully funded caregiver certification programs, specialty training courses, and administrative education for Resident Care Managers. Our comprehensive approach ensures AFH staff receive the training they need to excel.
HR Support Services
Beyond training, we partner with AFH providers to strengthen their entire workforce. We assist with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, compliance, and retention — delivering complete HR support tailored to your needs.
Financial Support
When caregivers participate in approved training programs, we provide a training participation allowance to reimburse wages, offer completion bonuses, or provide retention incentives. This reduces staffing strain while supporting team growth.
Advance the Industry
We work to elevate the reputation of the Adult Family Home industry by ensuring caregivers receive world-class training and support. Our efforts help improve day-to-day operations, retain staff, and build confidence in AFH services.
